“If you fucking do anything I swear to God I will tell whoever the fuck you’re dating now and I will make sure that relationship is ruined.”

“Surprise, surprise, I’m not willingly in a relationship, smart ass. You tell him, I get my ass kicked, raped, and tied to a bed post. Nothing new. Try again.”

“…..So it could probably make it worse if I told him at least?”

“I’m just savoring the taste is all, like I said, it’s really good.” Kiichi smiled, “I’m glad you brought me here.”

“Oh. Well that’s kinda weird, but okay,” Ren shrugged, taking another bite. “You’re welcome.”

“Well it’s not the first time I’ve been called weird. I mean, how I dress is enough to earn that name right?” Kiichi chuckled. He liked the way he dressed, but he was aware that it was a little weird, but he didn’t care.

“Yeah,” Ren nodded, “I don’t doubt that.” He took a sip of his drink. “Why do you dress like that anyways? I mean, that’s the kind of shit that gets you beat up.”

“it’s just what I like.” Kiichi shrugged, “Sooner or later they’ll know how much I like trains, and I figure this way, they can tell right from the start. If they beat me up, then I don’t want to be their friends anyway. Besides my dad worked with trains his whole life and I wanted to be just like him. He used to let me blow the whistle sometimes when he took me to work with him.”

He held up the whistle he wore around his neck, “Got me this too.”

Ren tilted his head to the side a little and raised a brow. “But… don’t you want to avoid that, kids knowing your weird interests? Your dad sounds, uh…. cool by the way.”

He looked at the whistle for a moment, a few thoughts crossing his mind. He didn’t want to be too forward in case his suspicions were wrong, so he just asked, “So what was your dad like?”

“I figure a real friend will like me even if they know my weird interests. That’s how I know they’re worth keeping and that I can trust them. That’s why I dress like this.” Kiichi smiled.

“And thanks, he really was. He used to drive the steam locomotives when he and mom first met. They actually met because she was taking a train to visit her folks and he though she was pretty and showed her around the train. It’s kind of embarrassing but my dad told me I was conceived on a train and that’s when he knew I would be growing up like him.” Kiichi blushed, “He was always so cool, I kind of miss him sometimes.”

“Huh…”

Ren thought on that while Kiichi started talking about his dad (He almost choked on his pizza about the “conceived on a train” part). His suspicions seemed to be pretty much confirmed, but now he was feeling a little awkward. What do you even say to that? “He uh… Um… I’m sorry..”

“Sorry? About what? It was awkward that my dad told me that when I was 5 but I got over it.” there’s no reason to be sorry about that.”

“You were five oh go-” Ren cleared his throat. “No I mean like, your dad, uh… Is he… dead?”

“……..What?” Ren’s eyes widened slightly. “No no no no no that’s not what I was….. Holy hell dude I thought you were just gonna….” He was feeling really uncomfortable now, and tried prying Daisuke’s hands off of his collar. “Okay okay, then let the fuck go if you’re not doing anything.”

“Why? You told me to go for it, right? Maybe you should experience the fear I have to go through, too.”

“I thought you were just gonna punch me or something holy shit let go let go let me fucking go.”

“Sorry,” Kiichi whispered as he closed the door. He blushed as he remembered the image he’d captured a few seconds earlier. Ren in his boxers. As Kiichi dripped water onto the carpet from his hair, he realized how exposed they’d both been together a moment before. The thought sent chills up his spine. He went to grab some clothes for himself, before his thoughts drifted elsewhere.

Ren locked the door behind Kiichi, hoping to avoid any other awkward intrusions; it was bad enough to be caught in his boxers. The water seemed warm enough now, so he stripped completely and got in. He tried not to take too long showering, so a little over five minutes later he was out and drying off and getting dressed.

The both of them were now changed and dripping wet. Kiichi smiled at Ren’s hair. Although the boy probably assumed Kiichi was laughing at him. “Sorry, I love your hair.”

“Huh? ..O-oh.” Ren blushed and quickly put his hat on, mumbling out a thanks to the boy.

Kiichi shook his head, “I know you like that hat but it smells like you did a few hours ago. Put it in the bag with the rest. We’ll wash it soon enough, and if your embarrassed about your hair, put the hood on.”

Ren frowned. Not his precious hat. He begrudgingly obeyed Kiichi and put it with the rest of his clothes, pulling the hood up after.
